Mangoes have a rich and complex flavor and aroma due to their aldehydes, esters and volatile alcohol esters. When fully ripe, they reach their peak. Mangoes are exceptionally rich in provitamin A and vitamin C, making them a valuable source of these vitamins. Half a mango is enough to obtain the recommended daily intake of provitamin A and two thirds of the daily requirement of vitamin C.
The size of mangoes varies from 5 to 15 cm in length, 4 to 10 cm in width and the weight of each fruit ranges from 150 grams to 750 grams.
